We recognize the benefit of informal gatherings of believers in small groups. In these settings life-giving, lasting relationships are formed and pastoral care is provided. Each member also has the opportunity to learn to meet the needs of others as spiritual gifts are developed and exercised.
Discipleship and spiritual growth take place best in small groups. Through Bible study, prayer, and interaction, God works in us to make us more like His Son. We offer the following discipleship small groups based on stages of growth:
• Surveyors – where seekers and new believers find answers to basic questions
• Groundbreakers – where disciples develop godly character, biblical knowledge, and spiritual habits.
• Builders – where followers of Christ continue to grow as well as use their gifts to make a difference in others.
We have also identified a fourth stage of discipleship, Developers, where ministry skills are reproduced in the lives of others. This normally takes on the form of mentoring and apprenticeship.
